The foundation of the Missouri Advocate Network was shaped by successful, impactful models in advocacy and leadership from renowned organizations. Inspired by the Colorado Trust’s Health Equity Advocacy cohort, which demonstrated the power of collaborative health equity work, and the Barr Foundation’s Barr Fellows, known for cultivating visionary leaders, the Missouri Advocate Network incorporates proven principles to foster resilience and long-term commitment in its members. Additionally, the New Directions Collaborative model contributed a dynamic, systems-thinking approach that emphasizes adaptability, cooperation, and collective action. These pioneering models inspired the Missouri Advocate Network's structure and mission, focusing on cultivating advocates who are empowered to drive meaningful change in their communities.
